Washington National Cathedral WNC Center for Global Justice and Reconciliation

Managing Director

In 2005 Washington National Cathedral established the Center for Global Justice and Reconciliation (CGJR), consolidating its long-standing global missions. Later that year, the Secretary Generals of the leading world Christian Communities, along with interfaith observers, met to discuss the role of faith communities in ending extreme poverty as framed by the Millennium Development Goals. In view of the scale and urgency of the challenges, their Declaration “ A Call to Partnership” laid out a moral call to inter-religious collaboration. The religious leaders presented the Declaration to the UN General Assembly, and it guided CGJR programmatic priorities in fostering large scale multi-faith multi-sector collaboration on challenges relating to Gender and to Malaria.
