A World of Neighbours
A World of Neighbours (AWON) is a multi-faith multi-sector peer to peer support network for practitioners working across Europe with refugees, asylum seekers and migrants. AWON has grown out of the vision of Antje Jackelén Retired Archbishop, Church of Sweden for a more welcoming Europe , and the work of Dirk Ficca and others to understand challenges and needs of frontline practitioners. HIAS, Lutheran World Federation, Islamic Relief Worldwide and Jesuit Refugee Services have partnered with AWON since its inception in 2018.
Jean serves as the founding Chair of the Board of the newly freestanding AWON NGO. Drawing on her expertise in developing start-up organizations, she guides strategic planning, program development, organization and staffing, fundraising etc towards the establishment of a stable entity that delivers tangible benefits to practitioners.
