Faith Matters
for the Common Good

Engaging multi-faith, multi-sector collaboration for positive change: an evidence-based approach.

Three decades of building and securing funding for networks of collaboration to achieve development and humanitarian goals. Building action-focused communities across faith lines, and between faith groups and policymakers, implementers and academics.

Jean works on a consultancy basis through the Partnership for Faith & Development, to support multi-faith, multi-sector collaborations for the common good.

Jean Duff is an expert in convening and funding cross-sector networks of collaboration and in the start-up of nonprofit social enterprises. She has a special expertise in building bridges and effective partnerships between faith-based organizations and the public sector, praxis and academia to achieve social justice and community development goals.

From village halls to international summits, she has worked with local actors, policymakers and researchers all over the world, to frame and support common action for the benefit of local communities.

Jean has a special interest in the untapped potential of faith influence for positive social and behaviour change (always keeping in mind the well documented harmful effects of faith), realizing that the complex faith ‘world’ is often misunderstood and undervalued in community development and humanitarian contexts.

Jean takes an evidence-based approach to all her work. She holds graduate degrees in Clinical Psychology (M.A. University College Dublin) and in Epidemiology (M.P.H. Columbia University, New York City). She is a Visiting Research Fellow at Trinity College Dublin and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
