Faith in Foreign Assistance

Co-Principal

Faith in Foreign Assistance (FIA) worked to strengthen U.S. public support and funding for global health and development assistance through the voice and lens of faith. FIA helped to create the Interfaith Working Group on Foreign Assistance (IFWGFA), co-chaired by Bread for the World and Church World Service and provided ongoing support to the group and its 54 members. With funding support from Rockefeller Foundation and New Venture Fund, and in close collaboration with IFWGFA, FIA equipped faith leaders from around the US to advocate with members of Congress and their staffs for robust funding for poverty-focused development assistance. Partnership for Faith and Development provided evidence support, advocacy materials, events, and helped secular foreign assistance advocacy organizations (Oxfam USGLC, ONE Campaign, CARE, Save the Children etc) to more effectively engage faith leaders, and managed the FIA project.
